Membership in the NMA

Become a part of the medical community of Kazakhstan. Membership in the NMA is a voluntary choice for specialists who want to be part of a professional community, participate in the development of healthcare, protect the interests of medical workers, and contribute to the future of the profession.

CATEGORIES OF NMA MEMBERSHIP

Four categories of membership—each with its own rights and opportunities.

1) Full Member

  • Who it is for: Medical professionals who are citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan and share the goals of the Association. Full members participate in the management of the Association through the mechanisms provided by the Charter.

  • Rights:

    • Participation in the General Meeting with voting rights.

    • The right to elect and be elected to the bodies of the Association.

    • Access to key financial reports and NMA documents.

    • Submission of proposals and initiatives.

    • Full access to all NMA services, including digital services.

2) Associate Member

  • Who it is for: Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan whose activities are related to healthcare, including management, education, science, and related industries.

  • Rights:

    • Participation in NMA events, committees, and projects.

    • Access to information and educational resources.

    • Access to the Association's services.

    • Voting rights at the General Meeting and the right to be elected in accordance with the internal regulations of the NMA.

3) Student / Resident

  • Who it is for: Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan enrolled in medical education programs or undergoing residency.

  • Rights:

    • Participation in NMA events, educational programs, and projects.

    • Access to the professional community and mentoring network.

    • Access to the Association's resources and services.

    • A dedicated track for young specialists, featuring mentorship, career support, and networking.

4) Honorary Member

  • Who it is for: Individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of healthcare, medical science, or education, including foreign citizens. The status of an Honorary Member is granted in accordance with the procedure established by the NMA.

  • Rights:

    • Honorary members participate in the life of the Association and advisory activities.

    • They are exempt from paying membership fees.

Rights of All Members

Regardless of their category, every member of the NMA:

  • Receives information about the activities of the Association.

  • Has the right to participate in the Association's activities according to their membership category.

  • May voluntarily withdraw from membership at any time.

  • Is protected by procedural guarantees in any dispute.

DUTIES OF MEMBERS

Membership involves not only rights but also responsibility to the community:

  • Comply with the NMA Charter, internal documents, and decisions of the governing bodies.

  • Adhere to the principles of medical ethics and avoid any actions that could damage the reputation of the Association.

  • Pay membership fees in a timely manner.

  • Provide accurate information and update contact details in a timely manner.

  • Disclose conflicts of interest where required.

HOW TO JOIN

  1. Submit an application: Fill out the electronic form via your personal account on the website or submit a paper application.

  2. Await a decision: The NMA Board reviews the application within 30 calendar days.

  3. Receive confirmation: The decision on admission (or a reasoned refusal) is sent in written or electronic form.

1.1.
